The Springfield School in Karachi, Pakistan was founded on 1 September 1966. Mrs. Agha co-founder of the school died on 25 April 2009. The school prepares students to sit for the GCE O Levels examinations from the University of Cambridge, UK.

The Springfield motto is Labour, Knowledge and Integrity.

History

Springfield School was founded on 1 September 1966 by husband and wife Mirza Nadir Agha and Nusrat Agha in a rented bungalow on the corner of Karsaz Road and Shahrae-Faisal. O levels were introduced in 1986.

Academics

Equality of all citizens is preached from Grade One, as students wear identical uniforms (including shoes) on a daily basis. Homework in English Language, Urdu and Mathematics is done right from Kindergarten, and is graded on a daily basis to provide feedback and monitor the progress of students.

Examinations are conducted twice a year along with 'tests' on at least a bi-weekly basis. Declamation and public speaking competitions are a frequent occurrence and students are encouraged to be creative in the annual school concert.

Campus

There is a field which was mainly used to play cricket but is now used to play softball, soccer and field hockey. There is a library, a hall (which is often used for debates), a science laboratory for experiments and science practicals, and a computer lab. The library, despite being small in size, houses an array of books covering almost all subjects. Books are not for issuance though, students may see them racked up on the shelves only.

Location

Springfield School is located in K.D.A., the most prestigious locality of Karachi. In spite of being in a central area it is ideally situated in a secluded corner providing a serene and calm environment to the students. The school has been constructed on a plot measuring 9573 sq. yards with all the three sections, Junior, Middle & Senior, housed side by side.

Founders

Springfield School was established by Mirza Nadir Agha on 1 September 1966 as an English medium school offering education to classes from Nursery to VIIIth with the additional facility of a boarding school for boys only, while the school itself was coeducational. Now i cant argue with this part since it is right.
