Sion Russell Jones

Siôn Russell Jones is a Welsh singer and songwriter from Cardiff.with songs featured in the Welsh comedy 'Stella' starring Ruth Jones name="Revealed: The 10 hottest new Welsh musical acts to look out for"[1]

Early life and career

Sion was born in Cardiff, Wales. Jones started playing the guitar at the age of 7, studied music at the University of Glamorgan (now the University of South Wales).[2] In October 2010, Siôn released his debut album And Suddenly via Still Small Voice Music, which was recorded during his final year at The Atrium School of Creative & Cultural Industries, Cardiff.[3]

Siôn’s music has been used in the background on the British soap operas Coronation Street and EastEnders.[3]

In 2011, Jones signed a publishing deal with BDi music,[4] and during the summer of 2011, he performed at several UK festivals including The Acoustic Festival of Britain, Festival of the Celts, and the Greenman Festival.[4]

In March 2012, Jones performed at the SXSW musical festival in Austin, Texas.[5]
