Simeon Monument

The Simeon Monument

The Simeon Monument in Market Place, Reading, Berkshire, England, is a three-sided obelisk supporting three lamps, constructed in 1804. Commissioned by Edward Simeon, a director of the Bank of England, and designed by Sir John Soane, it was intended to help the flow of traffic as well as illuminate the square at night.[1] It is a Grade II* listed building.[2]
