Awards Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross

Sigurt-Horstmar Freiherr von Beaulieu-Marconnay (31 December 1900 – 8 October 1953) was a German officer (Oberst) in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross of Nazi Germany. Beaulieu-Marconnay surrendered to the Soviet troops during the Battle of Stalingrad.

He "had spent a long time in the Soviet Union during the 1920s, spoke the Russian language, knew the country and the people and-as he stressed-was familiar with the Red Army." He commanded an infantry regiment in the 3rd (Motorised) Infantry Division at Stalingrad.[1]

He died on 8 October 1953 in a prisoner of war camp near Krasnopolje, Ukraine
