Shawn Skelly (born January 1, 1987) is an American professional ice hockey player who is currently a forward with the Macon Mayhem of the Southern Professional Hockey League.

Playing career

Skelly played four years (2007–2011) of college hockey for the Adrian College Bulldogs. In his four-year career with the Bulldogs he scored 102 goals and 229 points in 113 games. As of 2013 Skelly holds the school career records for points, goals, game winning goals, assists, and shots on goal. Skelly also holds the season record for most power play goals.[1]

Skelly joined the Texas Brahmas of the Central Hockey League at the end of the 2010–11 CHL season to play two playoff games.[2]

Prior to the 2011–12 ECHL season Skelly signed with the Gwinnett Gladiators[3] but was released prior to the start of the season.[4]

Skelly instead signed with the Mississippi Surge of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) for the 2011–12 SPHL season. During this season he also played 2 games for the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL after signing a contract with them.[5]

To start the 2012–13 season Skelly was back with the Mississippi Surge and played another 5 games with them before being traded to the Augusta Riverhawks[6] he played 26 games for the Riverhawks before signing with the Alaska Aces of the ECHL.[7]

On March 8, 2013, the 2012–13 ECHL trading deadline, the Alaska Aces moved Skelly, along with Chris Haltigin, to the Bakersfield Condors, in exchange for Evan Trupp.[8]

It was announced by the Aces that they had re-signed Skelly for the 2013–14 season on September 24, 2013.[9]

On July 3, 2014, Skelly to a one-year contract as a free agent with the Greenville Road Warriors.[10] He was later released by the Road Warriors prior to the commencement of the 2014–15 season.
