Sandilya

Shandilya is one of the top Brahmin gotras,[1] named after the rishi Shandilya,[2] specifying that individuals of the gotra have Shandilya as one of their patrilineal ancestors. The Shandilya's are held to have constituted one of the three prominent families of Kanyakubja Brahmins.[3]
