Seat configurations of Airbus A380

The A380-800 layout with 519 seats displayed

The Airbus A380 has two full-length decks of 49.90 m (163 ft 8 in), though the upper deck has a slightly reduced usable length due to the curvature of the front fuselage and the front staircase. The main deck measures 6.58 m (21 ft 7 in) in width and the upper deck 5.92 m (19 ft 5 in).

Passenger capacity varies with the seat configuration chosen by the operating airline. While the A380-800 is certified for up to 853 passengers (538 on the main deck and 315 on the upper), achievable with a one-class configuration, Airbus references a "comfortable three-class" 544-passenger configuration in their marketing material[1] however only Air France has come close to that number with 538 seats.

Of the planes currently in service, the passenger capacity ranges from 379 (Singapore Airlines) to 615 passengers (A380-800 in a two-class layout) (Emirates).[2][3] From late 2015, Emirates started operating planes seating 615 passengers in two classes for the Copenhagen route, the most ever seen, replacing the smaller Boeing 777. In all, 15 aircraft will use this configuration.[4][5][6][7][8] Airbus offers 11-abreast seats for delivery in 2017.[9]

Some airlines have speculated configuring the planes for higher seat numbers,[10] including a one-class layout seating 840 people.[11][12][13]
