Sam Y.G.

Sam "YG" Young Guy (born as Samir Gogna, also known as Shivaker) is a Filipino-Indian radio and television personality. He is the one-third of Boys Night Out host on Magic 89.9 with Tony Toni and Slick Rick. Y.G. was also a co-host for Eat Bulaga!.^[1][2]

Early and personal life

Gogna was born and raised in the Philippines. He came from a Catholic family in Jaipur, India. Gogna aspired to became a lawyer when he was a teenager, which led him to pursue a degree in legal management in college.^[2]

Gogna was granted his Filipino citizenship in 2011.^[3] In May 2016, Gogna became engaged to Joyce Pring after his co-disc jockey Tonytoni publicly announced their relationship via Instagram.^[2]

Career

Y.G. started his career in radio at the age of 19. He has worked with several television networks after graduating from college.^[2] In 2006, he became a DJ for Magic 89.9. In 2009, he first appeared in Cool Center as a relationship expert along with DZBB's Mr. Cariñoso. He also joined the cast of Eat Bulaga! and Diz Iz It!. In 2015, he notably interviewed former Japanese AV Idol Maria Ozawa.^[4][5] Also in July 2015, he covered for Men's Health Philippines.^[6] In January 2016 after the last segment Dancing In Tandem replacing ATM with the Baes, Y.G. departed Eat Bulaga! to focus his career as a DJ.
