Sachi Koto

Sachi Koto was a news anchor on CNN Headline News for 16 years, usually during weekend evenings, until her contract expired in July 2005. At age 54, CNN decided not to renew her contract. She is also a founder of WWAAAC (Who's Who in Asian American Communities).

Koto is a third-generation Japanese American. She worked at various radio and television stations in Atlanta and Tokyo for nine years before joining CNN. She now runs her own communications company, Sachi Koto Communications, LLC.

She graduated from Clarkston High School. She has a degree in communications from Reinhardt College in Waleska, Georgia, from which she graduated valedictorian. She also has a degree in Japanese Language and Culture from Gendai Nihongo Gakko in Tokyo.

She now resides in Atlanta with her fiance. Her son attends school at Arizona State University.

In 2009 she was elected to the Chair of the JASG (Japan American Society of Georgia).
