Robert Eihe

Roberts Eihe (August 12, 1890 — February 2, 1940), mostly known under the Russified name Robert Eikhe, (Robert Indrikovicn Eikhe, Russian: Эйхе, Роберт Индрикович), was Latvian Bolshevik, a high functionary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, several times elected to its Central Committee and was a Politburo candidate (1934). Holding to position in the Siberian committee of the party, he took an active part in collectivization, dekulakization and Great Purge. [1]

In 1937 he was appointed Narkom (minister) of agriculture of the Soviet Union.[1]

In 1938 he was arrested and accused of the creation of a "Latvian fascist organization", and executed in 1940.[1]
