Princess Wencheng statue on Riyue Mountain

The Riyue Mountain (Chinese: 日月山; pinyin: Rìyuè Shān; literally: "Sun and moon mountain") is situated in Huangyuan County, Xining, Qinghai Province, China.

Legend states that Princess Wencheng lost a mirror called Sun and Moon on Riyue Mountain that allowed her to see Xi'an, and that the Daotang River that flows near this mountain was born of her tears.

This mountain separate Qinghai Province into a pastoral zone in the west and an agricultural zone in the east.[1]
