Ricardo Blázquez Pérez (born 13 April 1942) is a Spanish prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He has served as Archbishop of Valladolid since 2010.

Biography

On 4 January 2015, Pope Francis announced that he would make him a cardinal on 14 February.[1] At that ceremony, he was assigned the titular church of Santa Maria in Vallicella.[2]

In April 2015 he was appointed by Pope Francis to serve as a Member of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, and of the Pontifical Council for Culture.

On Friday, January 8, 2016, he was appointed by Pope Francis to also serve as a Member of the Administration of the Patrimony of the Apostolic See.[3][4]

He was appointed a member of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments in October 2016 and will hold the post until his 80th birthday.
