Priory is an American electropop band formed in 2009 in Portland, Oregon. Composed of songwriters Brandon Rush, Kyle Sears, the band's sound is a blend of electronic instrumentation and heavy guitar.[1]

Music career

In June 2011 Priory released their first full-length album, the self-titled Priory,. The Owl Mag described it as marked by "smart lyrics in wonderful balance with the lovely harmonies and lush melodies".[2]

The band have played at Portland's top venues including the Doug Fir, the Holocene and Mississippi Studios. They have appeared at music festivals such as Neon Reverb in Las Vegas. [3]They were listed in Deli Magazine's top five emerging bands from Portland in 2010.[4] They have been likened to Arcade Fire and The Head and the Heart. [5]

Priory signed to Warner Bros. Records in the spring of 2014. On June 30th, 2014, Priory released their single "Weekend" on iTunes.[6] On September 3, 2014, Priory premiered the video, directed by David Vincent Wolf, on Idolator; it stars actors Bailey Noble and Nick Krause.[7]
