Plaza del Sol is an 728,546-square-foot (67,684.1 m2) enclosed regional mall located in the city of Bayamón, Puerto Rico. Plaza del Sol is anchored by Bed Bath & Beyond, Caribbean Cinemas, Walmart, H&M, Dave & Buster's and Home Depot.[1] The mall was opened in 1998, and was acquired by DDR Corp. in 2005.

Some of the mall tenants includes: Aldo, Bakers, American Eagle, Champs Sports, Adidas, Victoria's Secret, Foot Locker, La Gran Via, Hot Topic, Journeys, Kress/Kress Kids, Aeropostale, Marianne, PacSun, Old Navy, Tous Jewelers, Van Heusen, Zumiez, Finish Line, Bath and Body Works, Pandora among others.[2] Before its 2012 redevelopment the mall had a Space-oriented theme including a Solar System themed food court.

Redevelopment

In 2012, the mall added 35,500 sq ft (3,300 m2), moving the food court upstairs and reusing the space below for new tenants.[3] Phase two of Plaza del Sol’s redevelopment will include more parking spaces and the construction of approximately 137,000 square feet of new GLA to accommodate the expansion of a key anchor as well as construction of additional junior anchor boxes with an expected completion in the fall of 2018.
