Oakdowns is a suburb of Hobart, the capital of Tasmania, Australia. It is within the City of Clarence. At the 2011 Australian Census Oakdowns recorded a population of 988.[1] Oakdowns has many nearby parks.[2] It is a 20 minute drive to the CBD.[3] Most houses have views of Mount wellington and Ralphs bay.[4] [5]
Recreation
Oakdowns Park is the only recreation area in Oakdowns. The park has a rivulet running through it and has grounds suitable for ball games. Many people walk their dogs throughout the park and take their family to play on the playground.[2] There is a bike trail that follows South Arm Highway to the city known as the intercity cycle way.[6] Near the Rokeby Village is Percy Park which is less than a kilometer away from Oakdowns and has a small park.[7] There is a cricket and soccer ground at the village[8] and local games are held there.

There are no stores in Oakdowns, but there are stores near Oakdowns in the Knopwood Centre in Rokeby. Some of the stores are:[9]

There is also a hill street supermarket in Lauderdale for residents to shop for groceries.[10]
Transport
Oakdowns is serviced by Metro routes 634, 635, X34 and X35. These services are frequent and usually run on time.[11] There are five bus stops in Oakdowns which are:[12]
