Dinamalar review quoted that the concept of telepathy in "Nunnunarvu" movie is new to tamil cinema and that the movie is different and fast paced. Mathivanan Sakthivel has perfectly fit the character of Chandru in the film. The scenes where the Chandru and Charu characters connect for the first time through telepathy and scenes where both feel the feelings of each other are interesting scenes in the film. The editing by Suresh Urs is fault less and the cinematography is good. The villan characters played by Dinesh and Thiri and the character Anitha are good. The melody songs composed by Mayu Ganehsan are pleasing. The scenes where the Charu character is abducted doesn't look new and these type of scenes are common in tamil cinema. In summary the film "Nunnunarvu"is new concept to tamil cinema.[31]

Tamil.samayam.com rated Nunnunarvu film as 3.5/5. The concept of telepathy in Nunnunarvu film is new to tamil cinema and the scenes in the film is interesting to watch. Mathivanan Sakthivel and Indira has played their characters well. [32]

Maalai Malar quoted that Nunnuarvu's concept of telepathy is excellent. While the director has chosen a story that is suitable for many artists, more attention could have been given to the casting for this film. Mathivanan Sakthivel has improved his acting from his first film Maha Maha. While artists doesn't look like professional actors, they have done a good job. Mayu Ganeshan's songs are ok to hear and background score needs improving.[33][34]

ChennaiOnline.com review quoted that Mathivanan Sakthivel has fulfilled his character in the film, however the female lead seems to have nervousness in playing her character along with other new artists. It seems that Mathivanan Sakthivel has made this movie out of passion and this needs to be welcomed. However the concept he has directed in this film has comes across simple which doesn't make it very interesting. Songs composed by Mayu Ganeshan and Background Score by Raj are strengths to this film and cinematography has fit in with the screenplay. The locations selected for filming are great. While the screenplay could have been improved, the honest attempt made by the director to tell the story and the concept should be congratulated.[35]

MySixer.com reviewed the film based on telepathy is a good concept, however the production of the film could have been enhanced. The film is a fast paced thriller. Despite of the film being taken in Australia, there is materials in the film that showcases tamil culture in Australia. The character played by Charu's father fits with the role. The locations in the film have taken into different world. Songs by Mayu Ganeshan and Background Score by Raj doesn't distract the film. The film can be watched with no regret.[36]

Cinemapluz.com reviewed that Mathivanan Sakthivel as the director has made this film with great interest and that the core concept of the film is very different. The film did not have unnecessary scenes and has showed romance and friendship in a good screenplay. The artists have done a good job as newcomers.[37]

Tamilcinetalk.com reviewed the film's concept as excellent and said that if the film was played by big tamil heros that it would have been a big commercial hit like films - Ghajini (2005 film), 7aum Arivu, Iru Mugan. While it is acknowledged that the cast and crew are not that experienced professional artists, their passion needs to be congratulated. The camera work could have been improved. The director has to learn a lot to make films that will satisfy the tamil audience and we will welcome him. [38]

Cinesnacks.net review quoted that Nunnunarvu film has a big scope to be a fast paced thriller if it was done by a leading artist movie, however since it was played by Mathivanan Sakthivel and other new artists they have tried their best to make this film as a descent thriller. The film could have had more scenes to explain the telepathy concept. While the film was made in Australian environment, the value of tamil language has been portrayed well.[39]

nettv4u.com rated the movie 2.75/5 and said that the strengths of the movie are: telepathy shown in an engaging way, basic concept of the film is totally different, the movie is not loaded with unnecessary sequences, commendable editing by Suresh Urs with good cinematography and music. The weaknesses of the film being that certain scene tests the patience of the audience and there is dearth of logic in some scenes. Overall the verdict was that Nunnunarvu has a couple of flaws it is a welcoming sign to Tamil cinema for its fresh concept. [40]
