Naya Shakti Party, Nepal (Nepali: नयाँ शक्ति पार्टी, नेपाल, English Translation: New Force Party, Nepal) is a political party formed by former Nepali Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, officially registered to The Election Commission, Nepal (निर्वाचन आयोग नेपाल) in 10 July 2016.[1][2] It opposes careerism, which it sees as pervasive in modern Nepali politics, and has stated good governance as one of its platform goals.[3] It has held a Clean Kathmandu, Green Kathmandu campaign.[2]

On June 12, 2016 Baburam Bhattarai announced establishment of the Naya Shakti Party, Nepal (New Force Party Nepal) as a new political party under his leadership. The party has more than 100,000 members from across the nation.

Background

Baburam Bhattarai was a senior vice-chairman of the Maoist party, now renamed the CPN-Maoist Centre, and he was involved in that party for over two decades, including in the ‘people’s war’.

Because of his academic achievements, he invited attention during the Maoist armed rebellion. Because of the vision he shared or taught, over 17,000 people lost their lives in trying to attain the dream while many others were wounded or disappeared during the insurgency.

He became the prime minister as a Maoist leader. He attained a very important position and performed the difficult task of writing the new constitution as president of the Constitution, Political Dialogue and Consensus Committee (CPDCC) in the Constituent Assembly (CA), also as a Maoist leader.

As long as he was in the Maoist party, he said a new Nepal would be born after the new constitution, and an economic revolution would begin. But, as soon as the new constitution was promulgated in September 2015, he left his party to form a new one. Now he has declared the new political party for an economic revolution as a Naya Shakti Party, Nepal on 12 June 2016 (2073 Jestha 30th) .

Objective

Nepali citizens had fought multiple times against different types of political systems. Though those revolutions could change the political systems and scenarios but could not change the lifestyle of Nepalese. Nepali citizens await developed and economically sound Nepal for many years, but none of political changes could so. The latest revolution (along with Maoist's ten years armed revolution) of 2062/63 B.S. could establish federal republic Nepal and give new constitution, but the desire of Nepalese is not fulfilled yet. So, with very sharp aim to change Nepal to a developed nation with economic revolution with the optimum utilization of resource Naya Shakti Party Nepal is formed as a determined political party.Top political leaders(along with former Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai), some bureaucrats and educated personalities of different fields are aligned for the establishment of Naya Shakti Party. Its one of the Motto is "Change is possible in our era".

Party declaration ceremony was held in 12 June 2016 (2073 Jestha 30th) in Dasarath Stadium tripureshwor Kathmandu with huge mass of different leaders,well-wishers,followers and general citizens.

Agendas

Among many agendas of "Naya Shakti Nepal",establishment of Directly elected Presidential system by renewing constitution for ensurement of stable government is the key one. Also this party believe that one of the major cause of political instability in Nepal is due to current system( ie. Prime minister elected by parliament on majority). This party believe that if directly elected presidential system could be established then it will not only bring political stability but also economic development and revolution in country. So that the dream of Nepali people could be fulfilled.
