In 2014, Negovanlis was cast as the title role in the Canadian web series Carmilla. In the series, which is based on the 1871 gothic novella of the same name, Negovanlis portrays the vampire Carmilla, who appears after her roommate's previous roommate vanishes. The series premiered on the Vervegirl (rebranded as 'KindaTV' as of January 2016) YouTube channel on August 19, 2014.

As a result of the web series' popularity, Negovanlis garnered much attention on social media for her role as Carmilla, primarily on Tumblr, Twitter and Instagram, where she has since amassed more than 200,000 combined followers.[3][4]

The series is popular online for its depiction of LGBT characters and has been viewed over 45 million times on the Vervegirl YouTube channel, which has since been renamed and rebranded as 'KindaTV.'

The first and second seasons each consist of 36 three to seven-minute episodes.[5] A twelve-episode prequel mini-season, "season zero," was announced just after the release of the final episode of Season 2.[6] On February 13, 2016, it was announced that Carmilla will air its third and final season in the summer of 2016.[7]

In 2016, the series won a Canadian Screen Award[8][9] and a Rockie Award for Branded Content at the Banff World Media Festival.[10]
