Nantouillet is a commune in the Seine-et-Marne department in the Île-de-France region in north-central France.

History

Nantouillet, is a name of Celtic origin, the castle was donated to a Royal Norman knights family known for their fighting skills.

In the eleventh century, every great Lord, to strengthen the control of the territories, was surrounded by constraints vassals, but he needed to protect the population and themselves, of professionals men of the war: the bellatores or milites.

In 1392 during the "Bal des Ardents" Ogier de Nantouillet and the King Charles VI were the only ones to survive.

Nantouillet family is extinct, however, the descendants of the branch of Henri Nantouillet, originated by Jean de Nanteuil Nantolio continues to survive today in Italy.

Demographics

The inhabitants are called the Nantolétains, the name was Italianate in Natoli (Latin: de Nantolio French: de Nanteuil) with the migrations of the families of knights fighters that at their own expense created the armies to the rescue their familiar King Charles I of Anjou who traveled to Italy to protect the pope against Manfredi.
