NWA World Tag Team Championship (Mid-America version)

NWA World Tag Team Championship (Mid-America version)
Details
Promotion NWA Mid-America
Date established February 5, 1957
Current champion(s) Inactive

The Mid-America version of the NWA World Tag Team Championship existed from 1957 until 1977. It was defended primarily in Tennessee and Alabama. Because the championship is a professional wrestling championship, it is not won or lost competitively but instead by the decision of the bookers of a wrestling promotion. The championship was awarded after the chosen team "won" a match to maintain the illusion that professional wrestling is a competitive sport.[1]
