Mr. Wonderful (1955 song)

"Mr. Wonderful" is a popular song, written in 1955 written by Jerry Bock, George David Weiss, and Larry Holofcener, as the title song of a Broadway musical starring Sammy Davis Jr.

The most popular contemporary recordings of the song were done by Peggy Lee and Sarah Vaughan. It was covered in Britain by Ruby Murray.

Bette Midler covered this song on her Peggy Lee tribute album Bette Midler Sings the Peggy Lee Songbook.

This song was used by The Kinks during the live portion of the album Everybody's in Show-Biz.

It also makes a memorable appearance sung (largely out of tune) by a boys choir at the Lake Tahoe First Communion celebrations at the beginning of Francis Ford Coppola's GODFATHER Part II.
