Mount Bastei

Mount Bastei (71°22′S 13°32′E / 71.367°S 13.533°E / -71.367; 13.533Coordinates: 71°22′S 13°32′E / 71.367°S 13.533°E / -71.367; 13.533) is a prominent buttress-type mountain (2,460 m) rising 2 nautical miles (3.7 km) west of Mount Mentzel in the Gruber Mountains of Queen Maud Land. Discovered and named Bastei (bastion) by the German Antarctic Expedition, 1938–39, under Ritscher.
