Miria George

Miria George is a New Zealand writer of Te Arawa, Ngati Awa, Rarotonga, Atiu and Kuki Airani descent. Miria is an award winning poet and playwright who has written for radio and television.[1] In a review of her play Sunset Road, Ewen Coleman writes about Miria's ability to 'weave both reality and symbolism through the stories'.[2] Miria holds a Masters in Creative Writing from Victoria University of Wellington's International Institute of Modern Letters.[3]

Miria is the co-founder alongside Hone Kouka of Tawata Productions and Tawata Press.[4]
