The Wharf
The Wharf (or Walton House) and Mill House are two Grade II listed houses in Church Street, Sutton Courtenay, Oxfordshire, England.[1] They are part of a group of buildings purchased by the former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom H. H. Asquith, and his home until his death.[2]
The Wharf dates from the early 19th-century, and was reconstructed by Walter Cave from 1912[1] as a weekend retreat for the Asquiths. It is a two storey red brick building built with Flemish bond bricks.[1] In 2006, Mill House was bought by Asquith's great-granddaughter, the actress Helena Bonham Carter and her partner, the director Tim Burton.[3]
