Mick McGiven (born 7 February 1951 in Newcastle upon Tyne) is a former professional footballer who played as a defender in the Football League for Sunderland and West Ham United.[1] After retiring as a player he joined the coaching staff at West Ham United, then worked with Chelsea's youth team and coached Ipswich Town alongside John Lyall before taking over as first team manager. He returned to Chelsea where he performed a variety of roles with reserves and first-team, and as of 2009 is a match observer/scout.[2][3]
