Memorial Drive Elementary School is a primary school located in Piney Point Village, Texas, United States. It is a part of the Spring Branch Independent School District.

In the 2005-06 school year, the school had an enrollment of 438 students and 23.9 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student-teacher ratio of 18.3.[1]

The school is used regularly to host City Council meetings.[2]

History

The school was established in 1949 and it is the second oldest school in the district.[3]

The school was a 1996-97 National Blue Ribbon School,[4][5] the highest award an American school can receive.[6][7] The criteria for selection included high retention and graduation rates, challenging standards, family and community partnerships and high student achievement.[5]

Feeder patterns

The school serves sections of Piney Point Village, Hedwig Village, Hunters Creek Village, and Bunker Hill Village.[8]

Residents of the Memorial Drive Elementary School attendance zone are also zoned to Spring Branch Middle School and Memorial High School.[9]
