Melmalayanur is located near Gingee, Tamil Nadu, India, 21 km from chetput (Tiruvannamalai District). It is famous for the Goddess Angalaamman. Across from Southern India devotee use to visit.

Lakhs of devotees visit here every newmoon and fullmoon days since it is supposed to be auspicious during these days. But it lacks Medical facilities and hotel facilities. Melmalayanur is assembly constituency which will send representative to the members to the state assembly.

JUNCTION(Avalurpet)

Avalurpet(Town Panchayat) which is 10 km away from Melmalayanur and 22 km away from Thiruvannamalai since devotees come to Avalurpet and then go to Melmalayanur because Avalupet connects NH and STATE HIGHWAY and Share Autos are available round the clock. Devotees also visit familiar 88 years old ArulMigu SithaGiri MurgaPeruman ThiruKoil, which is situated at the top of a small hill. Devotees also perform Girivalam on Fullmoon days.

Politics

Melmalaiyanur is now converted to Gingee assembly constituency is part of Aarani Lok Sabha constituency.[1]
