Master's College and Seminary is a Pentecostal Christian institution of higher education in Peterborough, Ontario that consists of an on-campus Bible College, a global distance education program, and a church-based Seminary affiliated with Tyndale Seminary and located in Toronto.

History

Master's College and Seminary was established as Ontario Pentecostal Bible School in 1939 in Toronto, Ontario. In 1948, to reflect the expansion of the school constituency to include the Maritime District of the PAOC as well as the PAONL, the name was changed to Eastern Pentecostal Bible College. With continual growth and little room to expand, the Board of Directors authorized the purchase of Nicholls Hospital in Peterborough and relocated the College to Peterborough in 1951, where it became a residential institution. In 1981 the Nicholls Hospital was torn down and was replaced by a new dorm residence for men and women. In 1984, EPBC first began its Bachelor of Theology degree program.

In Spring 2000, it was determined that the time was right to bring Eastern Pentecostal Bible College together with Canadian Pentecostal Seminary East (which had been formed in 1996 in cooperation with Tyndale Seminary), to expand training options to those whose first language was not English, to create a discipleship school based on The Master's Commission, and to create a campus in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Master's College and Seminary was selected as the new name for this institution. An Act respecting Master's College and Seminary (formerly Eastern Pentecostal Bible College) was assented to June 29, 2001.

In the summer of 2010, Master's property in Peterborough was sold to a group of Pentecostal businessmen on the condition that Master's become the anchor tenant in its former buildings. When that decision was ratified by the Board of Governors, Master's relocated to Peterborough and classes commenced in Fall 2010. A significant advantage of the move to Peterborough was the additional classroom and administrative space along with residence for the students. The college continues to focus on training leaders for ministry worldwide giving opportunity for practical ministry while pursuing their academic studies. A particular strength of the institution is its Certificate Program which is a formational year of excellent academics and memorable learning experiences. Students can take this before heading to university, or make it the first year of their diploma or degree program at Master’s.

Programs

Master's College offers the following programs:

Christian Ministry Certificate (32 credit hours) which includes Christian Studies and Church Leadership.

Ministerial Diploma (102 credit hours).
Bachelor of Religious Education (126 credit hours) in Pastoral Ministry (for students who have completed at least two years of University or who have graduated with a two- or three-year Community College diploma.)
Bachelor of Theology (126 credit hours) which includes Pastoral Ministry and Youth Ministry.
Bachelor of Theology Completion (30 credit hours)

Master's Seminary offers the following program, co-operatively with Tyndale University College and Seminary:

A Master of Theological Studies Degree in Pentecostal Studies (27 credit hours at Master's, 27 credit hours at Tyndale).

Association of Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) has accredited the Master's College and Seminary programs since 1989. ABHE is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
