Mark H. Abrahamian (February 23, 1966 - September 2, 2012), was the lead guitarist for Starship. He had joined the band in 2001.[1]

Biography

He was born on February 23, 1966 in San Francisco, California. He learned to play guitar at age 9.[2] Upon hearing Van Halen‘s ‘Eruption’ in the seventh grade, the budding musician, in his own words, went to his home and did not leave (his) room until the ninth grade. Abrahamian joined Starship in 2001. Starship's history goes back to the 1960s with Jefferson Airplane and in 1980s Jefferson Starship. He died of a heart attack backstage after a concert in Norfolk, Nebraska.[1]

Abrahamian had been playing with Starship since 2000. The band traces its lineage through the 80s when they were Jefferson Starship and back to the 60s when they originally formed as Jefferson Airplane.
