Margaret Keys is an Irish soprano with Universal Records. She was a primary school teacher for four years before taking a career break and entering the music industry. At the age of 15, Keys was awarded the Trinity College of Music London Medal for the best overall singer in her music examinations. She has a Masters degree in Singing and Performance from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.[1]

She has performed extensively in Ireland and other parts of the United Kingdom, North America and Australia. She has also participated in musical theater productions (including Broadway) and vocal workshops. Being the recipient of the New York Artist Award and the BBC Fame Academy Bursary, Keys was privileged to work with acclaimed stars, producers and directors from Broadway, including Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber.[1] Her musical theater repertoire includes, amongst others, Beauty and the Beast, Phantom of the Opera, My Fair Lady, Les Misérables, Mary Poppins and Carousel.[2]

Keys performed for an audience of 35,000 at Rotorua Lakeside Concert. Her later performance at the National Concert Hall in Dublin left critics raving and prompted the signing by Universal Records.[1]

Legato

Keys released her first studio album, Legato, which debuted at number 14. "Every once in a while an artist makes you feel truly humbled. Margaret Keys is one of those artists. She has a voice of pure warmth and beauty. I know the world will fall in love with Margaret." Universal records Managing director [3]

Keys has since gone on to become an internationally recognised performer. She has performed in the Royal Albert Hall, toured with Alfie Boe, Russell Watson, Paul Potts, the Brit Award winning welsh Fron Male Voice Choir and performed in West End theatres. She was highly honoured to have been chosen as one of the world artists to perform for Pope Francis' first state visit to America in September 2015. Other artists that performed included Andrea Bocelli and Aretha Franklin. It was broadcast to a worldwide audience of 5 million.

Philanthropy

She founded MKeys Productions, where she produced and directed children's productions for charity.[1] Keys is also an ambassador for HRH Prince of Wales Foundation for Children and Arts.
