Lycée Français de Kyoto (LFK; リセ・フランセ・ド・京都 Rise Furanse do Kyōto) is a French international school in Kamigyo-ku, Kyoto, Japan.[1] It serves levels maternelle (preschool) through lycée (senior high school).[2] It was formerly École française du Kansai (EFK; 関西フランス学院 Kansai Furansu Gakuin).[3] It was founded in 1997,[4] and resides in the former Taiken Elementary School.[5]

As of 2003 the school, mainly catering to mixed French-Japanese families, had 35 students. That year Phillipe Chatignoux, the consul-general of France, stated that even then French companies had difficulty establishing themselves in the Kansai region since the EFK at the time was not sufficient in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI).[6]

There was previously a French school or educational facility in Kobe.[7]
