Luigi Caccia Dominioni (December 7, 1913 – November 13, 2016) was an Italian architect and furniture designer.
Early life
Luigi Caccia Dominioni was born on December 7, 1913 in Milan, Italy.[1] He graduated from the Polytechnic University of Milan.[1][2] During the World War II, he served in the Italian army, but in 1943 he refused to join the Italian Social Republic and escaped in Switzerland.[1]
Career
After the war, Caccia Dominioni opened his professional study and in 1947 he co-founded with two friends "Azucena", a company specialized in producting handmade design objects and furniture.[1]
Caccia Dominioni designed many buildings in Milan, notably curing the internal restructuring of the Biblioteca and the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana.[1][3] He also designed the Parc Saint Roman, a skyscraper in Monaco.[1] Additionally, he designed furniture like "lamps, armchairs, handles, and design objects".[1][2]
Death
Dominioni died on November 13, 2016 in Milan, Italy.[1][2]
