Santa Lucía de Paraíso

Santa Lucía is the youngest of the districts of Paraíso, Costa Rica.

It started as a "precario" in the mid eighties, that is a piece of land that was invaded by homeless people who built makeshift houses until the land was granted to them by the government so that they became the owners of the properties. The population grew so rapidly that in less than 20 years, and even if its size is just a couple of miles long, it was declared a new district.
