Engineering colleges in the Indian administered Jammu and Kashmir are affiliated to State Universities like University of Kashmir, University of Jammu and other Deemed universities like Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University and Islamic University of Kashmir. Srinagar district

National Institute of Technology, Srinagar

The National Institute of Technology, Srinagar is the best engineering college in Jammu and Kashmir. It is a national engineering institute located in Hazratbal, Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India, along with other NITs and IITs of India. It is one of the 30 NITs in India, and as such is directly under the control of the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). NITSRI was established in 1960 as the Regional Engineering College, Srinagar. The institute shifted to its present campus in 1965. As the Regional Engineering College, the college was affiliated with the University of Kashmir.The Regional Engineering College, Srinagar was upgraded to become the National Institute of Technology, Srinagar in July, 2003.

The college is situated in Hazratbal, Srinagar and is affiliated to Kashmir University for all academic purposes. The college is also approved by AICTE. The courses offered by the college are bachelor of technology in Computer engineering, Electronics and Communication engineering, Electrical & Electronics engineering, Mechanical engineering and Information Technology.

Baramulla district

SSM College of Engineering, Baramulla

The college is situated in Pattan, Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir and is affiliated to University of Kashmir for all academic purposes. The different engineering courses in the college are Civil engineering, Electrical engineering, Electronics and Communication engineering, Mechanical engineering and Computer Science and engineering.

Pulwama district

Islamic University of Science and Technology, Pulwama

The Islamic University of Science & Technology is the public university located in Awantipora, Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir. The engineering college of the university provides courses in bachelor of technology in Civil engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Food technology and also masters in Food technology^[1]

Indian Institute of Technology Jammu

The Indian Institute of Technology Jammu (abbreviated IIT Jammu) is a public research university located in Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir, India.The Institute came into existence in 2016 when a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Department of Higher Education, Government of Jammu & Kashmir and Department of Higher Education, MHRD, Government of India, was signed, setting the ball rolling to set up an IIT campus at village Jagti, Tehsil Nagrota at Jammu. Currently the institute offers three UG programs namely, B.tech in Computer science, B.tech in Electrical Engineering and B.tech in Mechanical Engineering with the intake capacity of 30 in each branch.The admission to these programs is done through JEE-Advanced.

Model Institute of Engineering & Technology, Bantalab, Jammu

Model Institute of Engineering and Technology is a technical institute located in Jammu. It offers undergraduate degrees in different engineering trades and master's degrees in computer engineering only.

MBS College of Engineering & Technology, Digaina, Jammu

The college is affiliated to Jammu University for all academic purposes. Government Engineering College, Jammu

The Government College of Engineering and Technology, Jammu (GCET, Jammu) is an engineering institute located in Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir, India. It offers the degree of Bachelor of technology in Computer Sciences and engineering, Electronics and Communication engineering, Mechanical engineering, Civil engineering and Electrical engineering. It was established in 1994 and is the first engineering college in the Jammu region of the Jammu and Kashmir.

College of Engineering and Technology, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri

The Baba Ghulam Shah Badhshah University is a university in Rajouri which came into existence by the Act of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly in 2002. The engineering college of the university offers undergraduate courses in Civil engineering, Computer Science and engineering, Electrical and Renewable Energy engineering, Electronics and Communication engineering, Information Technology and engineering.^[4][5]
