Leon McCarty (June 20, 1888 – September 18, 1962) was the 17th head football coach for the University of Kansas Jayhawks located in Lawrence, Kansas and he held that position for the 1919 season.[1] His overall coaching record at Kansas was 3 wins, 2 losses, and 3 ties. This ranks him 32nd at Kansas in terms of total wins and 15th at Kansas in terms of winning percentage.
McCarty was a 1910 graduate of Ohio State, lettering in football there in 1908 and 1909.[2]
He also was head baseball coach at the University of Kansas from 1914 to 1917 and in 1920, with an overall record of 37–21–1 and Missouri Valley Conference championships in 1914 and 1915.[3]
