Legends of Shannara is the title of a series of novels written by Terry Brooks. The first book, Bearers of the Black Staff, was released by Del Rey Books on August 24, 2010 in the United States. These novels bridge the Genesis of Shannara series with the Shannara series, two other series by Brooks. They cover events which took place five hundred years after The Great Wars.

Bearers of the Black Staff (2010)
The first novel in the Legends duology tells of the quest of the eponymous Sider Ament, who along with his companions must protect his home valley from an army of Trolls.
The Measure of the Magic (2011)
The second novel is primarily concerned with Panterra Qu, a companion of Sider Ament in Bearers of the Black Staff who inherited the staff after Ament's death. This volume focuses on his efforts to control the magic of this ancient artifact. It was released August 23, 2011.
