Lady Chatterley's Lover (French: L'Amant de lady Chatterley) is a 1955 French drama film directed by Marc Allégret who co-wrote screenplay with Philippe de Rothschild and Gaston Bonheur, based on novel Lady Chatterley's Lover by D. H. Lawrence. In 1955, the film was banned in the United States because it "promoted adultery", but it was released in 1959 after the Supreme Court reversed that decision.[1]
