Kotara High School is a co-educational, comprehensive, day school for students from Years 7-12 in the suburb of Adamstown Heigths in Newcastle, New South Wales and is operated by the New South Wales Department of Education and Training. It was founded in 1968 and its current Principal is Mr Mark Sneddon.

Description

Kotara High School has four main buildings, named A, B, C and D "blocks" respectively. Located inside A Block are the main offices and principal's office. The school also features two basketball/netball courts and a multi-purpose centre used for assemblies and sporting activities. Also in the grounds are an oval and a quadrangle. The school's colours are green, black and white.

School Events

Highlights of the school calendar include annual Swimming, Athletics, Cross Country carnivals and more recently, the "Big Day Out". The Big Day Out is an event in which performing arts students from the school showcase a mini concert.
