José Carlos Lozano Rendón

José Carlos Lozano Rendón is a professor and researcher with the Tec de Monterrey, Campus Monterrey, whose work has been recognized with Level II membership in Mexico’s Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (SNI).[1]

He holds a doctorate in international communication from the University of Texas, Austin, a masters in mass communications from the University of Leicester and a bachelors in social communication from the Universidad Regiomontana.[2]

He is the director of the Centro de Investicación en Comunicación e Información CINCO (Research Center in Communication and Information at Tec de Monterrey, Campus Monterrey. Before this, he was the director of the undergraduate program in communications and information media studies at the same school. He was also the editor of the Anuario de Investigación de la Comunicación CONEICC. (Vol. 1-5).[2]

He has published more than forty peer-reviewed articles and other academic works including the book “Teoría e investigación de la comunicación de masas.”[2]

He has presented on his research in conferences in Mexico, Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Spain, the United States, Peru, the Dominican Republic and Venezuela.[2]

He has been a board member of the Asociación Latinoamericana de Investigadores de Comunicación (ALAIC), the Consejo Nacional para la Enseñanza y la Investigación de las Ciencias de la Comunicación (CONEICC) and the Federación Latinoamericana de Facultades de Comunicación Social (FELAFACS).[2]

In addition to SNI, his work has been recognized by Cátedra Televisa and the Cátedra de Investigación Interna del Tecnológico de Monterrey, which funded research efforts from 2003 to 2007.[2]
