José Chamot
José Antonio Chamot (born 17 May 1969 in Concepción del Uruguay) is a retired Argentine footballer who played as a full-back. He served as coaching assistant to Matias Almeyda at River Plate.
Club career
Throughout his career Chamot played for Rosario Central in Argentina, Pisa, Foggia, Lazio and AC Milan in Italy and Atlético Madrid in Spain. While playing at Lazio, he shook Pierluigi Collina's hand too firmly post match and earned a 1-game ban for dissent.[1]
International career
He represented Argentina at the 1994, 1998 and 2002 World Cups. He was the starting left-back during 1994 and 1998, and also played one match in 2002 World Cup against Sweden as a right-back.
He was also part of silver medal-winning team at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia, as one of the three over-23 players allowed per squad.
