John Henry Silva (born 1980 in Chicago, Illinois) is an Entrepreneur and Investor focused on life-saving solutions.

Entrepreneurship

Silva is a serial entrepreneur,[1] and previously co-founded ReMed Life Sciences, a Tokyo-based regenerative medicine company,[2] and Otsuki Consulting International ( 大槻コンサルティングインターナショナル ), a Tokyo-based strategy consulting firm. Silva was the founder of Cambridge Executive Academy, and negotiated the company's sale to a national competitor.[3]

In 2015, he was named 40 Under 40 in Healthcare Leadership by Medtech Boston.[4]

Investments

Silva was an investor at Tufts Health Ventures, the corporate development division of Tufts Health Plan,[5] Aga Khan Development Fund, the international investment arm of the Aga Khan Foundation in Afghanistan and Pakistan, iRobot's Corporate Development Group, and Millhouse Capital, executing mergers and privatization restructuring for entities in the Former Soviet Union.[6]

Academia and Media

Silva has written and been featured in the Boston Globe,[7] [8][9] Le Courrier,[10] MIT Entrepreneurship Review,[11] Boston World Partnerships,[12] Harvard Crimson[13] and Bloomberg.[11][14][15] Previously he was a Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. He has published academic research at iRobot and Harvard Business School,.[16][17] He also was an editor for Humanism and Business, published by Cambridge University Press.[18]

Government Service

Silva served in the US Marine Corps and served on White House Duty during the Administrations of Bill Clinton and George W. Bush. He served in over 25 domestic and international trips supporting Presidential Travel Operations. He is a recipient of the Presidential Service Badge.[13]

Family and Education

Silva was born November 17, 1980 and grew up in Chicago, Illinois. His maternal and paternal family are political refugees from Gdańsk, Poland and Havana, Cuba respectively. His mother, Barbara Dworzycki, toured the Soviet Union in 1964 with the Oberlin College Choir.[19] Silva graduated from New Trier and Harvard University.
