JoAnne Graf Field at the Seminole Softball Complex is the home field for the Florida State Seminoles softball team: it is on the campus of Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida.[1] The Mary Ann Stiles & Barry Smith team building is the shared home of both the Florida State softball and Florida State soccer teams. Originally built in 1999 it received a multimillion-dollar upgrade beginning in 2008. It has become a key part of the complex for both softball and soccer as it also houses offices for coaches, locker rooms, training and equipment rooms.

History

The Florida State Soccer/Softball Complex opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Saturday, April 17, 1999. The event was held in conjunction with Florida State's 30th Anniversary of Women's Intercollegiate Athletics Spring Celebration. On April 2, 2005, former university president Dr. T.K. Wetherell and former Athletics Director, Dave Hart, officially renamed the softball stadium "JoAnne Graf Field at the Seminole Softball Complex." [2]

In the fall of 2006, the stadium received improvements as a Florida State unveiled a new video scoreboard. In 2011, a new indoor batting facility was constructed.

JoAnne Graf Field hosted back-to-back NCAA Regionals twice in its history; in 2001 and 2002 and then again in 2004 and 2009.

Advantage

Since opening in 1999, Florida State has played to the venue’s home-field advantage. The Seminoles have recorded 384 victories in their 15 years at JoAnne Graf Field. Despite the listed capacity of 1,000 seats, JoAnne Graf Field has had above capacity crowds on three occasions including a record 1,199 on April 17, 2013 against the Florida Gators, 14 years after the official opening of the complex.
