Jimmy Norman (Galway Bay FM)

Jimmy Norman (born 17 January 1970) is a radio presenter on Galway Bay FM.

Norman was one of the first people baptised in Cathedral of Our Lady Assumed into Heaven and St Nicholas, and grew up in Water Lane on Bohermore. After finishing his Leaving Certificate in 1988 he worked at Zhivago Music store before obtaining a position in 1990 at Radio West, a precursor to Galway Bay FM.

He began working at Galway Bay FM in 1992, mainly presenting the Breakfast show until 2012 when he requested a move to afternoon radio, he subsequently returned to the Breakfast Show in April 2013.

In 2006 he was the first face on City Channel Galway, where he produced and presented a current affairs programme called "Galway in Focus". The programme continued until City Channel closed its Galway operation in 2009.

He is a qualified pilot, and helped set up a telecommunications company called Eire Communications, with his then partner (which she sold in 2002) and currently runs Norman Media with his wife, Sinéad Ní Neachtain, with whom he has two children.

He graduated from Galway Business School in 2012 with a First Class Honours degree in Business Management, and in 2014 he graduated from NUI Galway with an master's degree in Strategic Management, Innovation and People Management and Development.
