Jake Luhrs, born William Jacob "Jake" Luhrs, is an American musician best known as the lead vocalist of August Burns Red.

Background

Luhrs started his musical career with the band August Burns Red, after Vocalist Josh McManness left. Luhrs has performed on all the ABR albums, minus Thrill Seeker in 2005 and Looks Fragile After All in 2003. Luhrs has performed on several guest vocal spots, whether it be live or studio, including Pierce the Veil,[2][3] Blessthefall,[4] and For Today.[5] Luhrs runs a charity which he calls Heart Support.[6][7][8][9][10] Luhrs, along with Matt Greiner and JB Brubaker and members of We Came as Romans and Blessthefall, appear in parody metal band, Amidst the Grave's Demons video for "Save My Life".

Personal Life

Luhrs was married to Kristen Michelle Welch since 2011, but they have since separated.[9] Luhrs is a devout Christian.[11][12] Luhrs also won the Artist Philanthropic Award at the APMA Awards of 2016.[13]
