Iowa elections, 2018

A general election will be held in the U.S. state of Iowa on November 6, 2018. All of Iowa's executive officers will be up for election as well as all four of Iowa's seats in the United States House of Representatives, 25 (half) of the seats in the Iowa Senate, and all 100 seats in the Iowa House of Representatives.

Governor and lieutenant governor

Incumbent Republican Governor Terry Branstad, who has served for two consecutive and six total terms as governor, has said it is unlikely he will run for re-election.[1]

Attorney general

Incumbent Democratic Attorney General Tom Miller has served in the position since 1995, and previously from 1979 to 1991. Miller has not announced whether he will run for re-election.

Secretary of State

Incumbent Republican Secretary of State Paul Pate, who was elected in 2014 and previously served from 1995 to 1999, has not announced whether he will run for re-election.

Treasurer

Incumbent Democratic State Treasurer Michael Fitzgerald, who has served in the position since 1983, is running for re-election to a tenth term in office.[2]

Auditor

Incumbent Republican State Auditor Mary Mosiman, who was appointed to the position in 2013 and elected to a first full term in office, has not announced whether she will run for re-election.

Secretary of Agriculture

Incumbent Republican Secretary of Agriculture Bill Northey has served in the position since 2007. Northey is considering running for Governor instead of re-election and plans to announce his decision sometime in 2017.[3]

United States House of Representatives

All of Iowa's four seats in the United States House of Representatives will be up for election in 2018.

Iowa General Assembly

The 25 odd-numbered Iowa Senate seats are up for election in 2018, as are all 100 Iowa House seats.
