Originally titled the Varadero Spring Festival,[1] it was renamed International Electroacoustic Music Festival in 1998. it has featured electroacoustic musicians such as Julio Roloff. Juan Blanco created it with the purpose of presenting Cuban composer’s electroacoustic and avant-garde works to an international audience and to establish relationships with foreign composers and artists.[2]
