IMK 14. oktobar (full legal name: Industrija mašina i komponenata - IMK 14. oktobar a.d. Kruševac) is a Serbian company specialized in the production of heavy machinery and equipment. It is headquartered in Kruševac, Serbia. Company is currently under restructuring. Along Kruševac, it maintains production facilities in Varvarin, Brus and Ražanj.

History

The company was established by Austrian and Hungarian investors in 1923 as Company specialized in wagons repair and manufacture. In the first years of the company, the primary activity is related to the overhaul and repair of vehicles and freight cars, at time is increased the use of quality in production technology by simultaneously extending the product range, which resulted in start of production of steel construction, metal consumer products, and products for use in the military industry.

After the World war II, the company was nationalized and repaired from war damage. It was named in a memorial of the date when Kruševac was liberated form Nazi occupation in 1944. The company has oriented to production of construction, mining, agriculture and transportation, machinery and equipment for the purpose of manufacturing equipment and machine parts. It was one of the largest producer of heavy machinery in former Yugoslavia.[3]

In August 2015, after years of negative business losses, the company has suspended its production.[2] From December 2014 through August 2015, nearly all of 1,500 employees left the company, using the social programs.[2]

Certificates

In order to achieve the policies and business retention and improving market positions, performed the upgrade of an existing and well- organized quality management system by introducing more case one system or the system of environmental management - EMS in accordance with ISO 14001:2005. They together, ISO 9001:2008 and ISO 14001:2005 make integrated management system. However, it is essential to determine the meaning of "integrated management system".

On September 27, 2013, the extension of the certificate has been made, based on the re-evaluation of quality management systems in the complete business system. Certification is valid until October, 2016.

Review and evaluation system of environmental management by authorized institutions YUQS and IQNet, held in October 2012th when they received a certificate confirming that the system of environmental management, which has established and applies IMK "14. octobar" in accordance with international standard ISO 14001:2005. Certification valid until October 2015th year.

IMK "14. octobar" ad Kruševac, has accredited laboratory for testing materials and products. Based on the review and appraisal of the authorized institution "ATS ", 2011. year was obtained accreditation certificate confirming that laboratory testing of materials and products in order to comply with the requirements of the series of ISO / IEC 17025-2006 for mechanical and chemical testing of materials ( metals and non-metals ) and welds with and without destruction. The accreditation is valid until July 2015th year.
