IBAT College Dublin (sometimes called IBAT College or the Institute of Business and Technology is an Irish business school based in Temple Bar, Dublin City Centre. The college provides courses in business, accountancy, information technology and English Language. IBAT College Dublin offers full and part-time courses at skills, degree and masters level.[2]

IBAT College courses have external recognition and approval by various Irish awarding bodies of HETAC, FETAC, ACCA, ICM (Institute of Commercial Management), ATI (Accounting Technicians Ireland), ICS (Irish Computer Society), and ECDL; and is also an ACCA computer based examination(CBE) center and an approved Project Management Institute course provider. Sine 2009 IBaT is recognised by the ACCA as a Gold Status Tuition provider.[3] The College also runs a number of English language programmes for foreign students.

IBAT College was originally opened in the town of Swords in north Dublin in 2004. The Swords Campus has nine lecture halls, two computer labs, coffee dock, library and internet hub. In 2011 a new campus was opened in the heart of Dublin City in Temple Bar. The newly renovated five storey building has state-of-the-art facilities, including a dedicated MBA floor, penthouse library, IT labs and student kitchens/common areas.[4]

Since September 2008 the College utilises the CAO system for Higher Education Institutions in Ireland to facilitate learner application and admission to its HETAC programmes.

The courses in IBAT College include Business & Management, Accountancy & Finance, Computing & IT Design and English Language. In January 2011 IBAT College Dublin formally became an Institution of the University of Wales with Validated Provisio, in February 2011 the College launched a new MBA programme awarded by the University of Wales.[5]

In December 2012, graduation took place in the Dublin city centre building for the first time, this included graduates from Swords and Temple Bar.[6]

Approvals

IBAT College Dublin is a FETAC, HETAC, ATI,[7] ACCA, ICS and ICM approved college. IBAT College Dublin is HETAC approved to deliver business programmes up to Level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications. IBAT College was awarded the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants' (ACCA) gold quality standard.[3]
