Howard Williams (ceramicist)

Howard Williams (b 1935) is a New Zealand ceramicist and art writer.[1]

In 1971 he founded the Karanga Ceramic Studio at Silverdale in Auckland.[2] He is a member of the New Zealand Society of Potters Inc and current chair of the Albany Village Charitable Arts Trust.[3]

Williams is the editor of the New Zealand Pottery Workbook, a practical guide for pottery making that draws upon his wide experience as a studio potter both in New Zealand and overseas.[2] He has had a long involvement with the New Zealand Potters Society, being the editor of Then and Now: NZ Potters Miscellany 1963-2009 and New Zealand Potter.[4]
