Holocaust and Tolerance Museum

The Holocaust and Tolerance Museum is a museum to be built in Chandler, Arizona. The project was begun around 2010 by the East Valley Jewish Community Center, following a successful Anne Frank exhibit in 2008.[1] It will focus on history of the Holocaust with exhibits designed to expose past and present examples of prejudice, genocide and inhumanity around the globe while teaching racial and cultural tolerance.[2]

Building

Plans for the museum, expected to cost $20 Million dollars and include a 70,000-square-foot (6,500 m2) facility will be built in phases on 4.6 acres. It will also include a 350-seat auditorium, meeting space, classrooms and a contemplation courtyard.[3] The Museum is being designed by Michael Rumpletin (RSP Architects, Phoenix Office) and Jeremy Mayberg (RSP Architects, Minneapolis Office)[4] RSP Architects recently completed the nearby Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix.[5]
